The village of Old Forge to many of us, has been a weekend and even day trip get-away since we were small children. This small town in the heart of the Adirondack Park only seems to be prospering and expanding their “four-season” fun with a little Adirondack flair. There’s literally something for everyone in Old Forge, whether you enjoy relaxing or even thrills. So we have complied a “Top 6” for the awesome activities you and your family and/or friends could do while in Old Forge.
#6-Wildlife
In Old Forge you can get the full wildlife experience of the Adirondacks without having to a long distance. From animals such as the iconic Adirondack Moose, bobcats, beavers, and majestic Bald Eagles. Don’t forget about the deer that walk right into the village either!
#5-Lake Life
If you enjoy and type of activity on the water such as fishing, boating, jet skiing, or any form of paddling, there is certainly not a lack of freshwater in Old Forge. The entire Fulton chain of Lakes is at your disposal starting at the Old Forge Pond running right to 8th lake.
#4-Hiking & Biking
Whether you like to lace up those hiking shoes or hop on your favorite mountain bike, there is plenty of trails in Old Forge to keep you occupied. From Bald Mountains hiking trails to the nice and paved TOBIE (Thendara-Old Forge-Big Moose-Inlet-Eagle Bay) Trail is the perfect pedestrian biking trail!

There’s so many bars and restaurants in Old Forge that could suite anyone’s taste buds. From Slicker’s right in Old Forge to Daiker’s right up the road on 4th lake.

No matter what season you go to Old Forge you can count on great views! No matter where you go there is going to be some amazing sights to take in.

There is so many different activities to do to keep you and your family occupied. The one major one that comes to mind is Enchanted Forest Water Safari, but don’t forget about Calypso’s Cove Family Fun Center either!
