Bald Mountain
One of the most popular trails is Bald Mountain because it is perfect for both beginners and experienced hikers. Bald Mountain, also known as Rondaxe Mountain, is a 1.9-mile hike to the top and throughout the hike, you will experience the beautiful sights and sounds of the Adirondacks.
When you get to the top of Bald Mountain make sure to go to the Fire Tower and take in the picturesque views of the mountains and the Fulton Chain of Lakes. While you’re up there, take pictures of the views and with your hiking partner(s) to keep as memories – and proof that you hiked to the top of Bald Mountain!
Death Brook Falls
When you are looking for a short hike with a lot to see, you’ve got to check out Death Brook Falls. Death Brook Falls, also known as Hidden Falls, is at the southeast end of Raquette Lake in the Blue Ridge Wilderness.
Death Brook Falls is a 0.3-mile trail that is easy to follow and takes you to the base of the falls. Once you hear the cascades of water, you’ll know you’re close! This trail offers several activity options and is great for everyone in the family, even the dogs!
Lock N Dam
Lock N Dam is another great trail option for those days when you just want to have an enjoyable and easy Adirondack outing. The hike begins just over the bridge over the Middle Branch of the Moose River. This trail is a great option for everyone in the family because it is easy to walk and offers a lot of activity options! When taking this trail, bring a blanket and some food to enjoy a picnic in the open area near the river!
You can also fish, go swimming, bird watching, or just sit and read a book and take in the beauty that surrounds you. Often, you will see canoes and kayaks paddling here as it’s easy to get to from local renters like Tickner’s Canoes and Mountainman or local paddlers use the Green Bridge to access the waterways. This trail can be accessed year-round and is a great way to spend a day in the Adirondacks!
Black Bear Mountain Trail
Black Bear Mountain Trail is a more moderate trail for all of you experienced hikers out there. This trail is a 4.7-mile loop trail located near Inlet.
The trail offers various activity options and offers spectacular views of the lakes and the Adirondacks. You can also bring your dog on this trail, but remember your leash! This trail is definitely one to try on your next hiking excursion.
