Old Forge transforms into a holiday winter wonderland with an Adirondack Christmas on Main Street beginning Friday, November 28 and continuing through Sunday, November 30. This event will sure get you in the holiday spirit while continuing the family Thanksgiving weekend. The best part about the whole weekend is Santa will be making appearances all over town, so make sure your children have their Christmas lists ready for show and tell! The special event weekend kicks off Friday, with a whole line-up of activities at local shops around town, who will be offering small business holiday shopping all weekend. Friday night the light parade will stop at Point Park with a tree lighting ceremony and live music.
The festivities continue all weekend with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their reindeer, horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting, caroling, Zoo Mobile, Moose River farm animals and book signing, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and more! All free of charge!
Additional venues are also available for your enjoyment, including the Santa Express Train & holiday arts and crafts at View. The Reindeer Run, a fun run for kids of all ages, takes you from the Goodsell Museum (Historical Association) to Point Park. Keep your antlers on, the fun doesn’t stop there — wear your antlers into the special holiday 2pm matinee at the Strand Theater and receive a free small popcorn and 1/2 price matinee.
